The map of the island is resident evil 4 remakechallenge mode, The Mercenaries. It may not have chainsaws or catapults, but much of Ganados has impenetrable armor and shields, leaving fewer safe spots than any other map. Worse, skitting Plagas and attacking his mighty Brute can give the horde an opening to overwhelm you.
Traveling around the island takes time, so it’s always helpful to plan your next trip. This guide contains everything you need to know about maps.
island layout
The Island map consists of the area around the anti-aircraft bunker, one of the most difficult sections of the RE4 Remake’s main story. It is divided into three sections. The surrounding area including the bunker itself and the bridge over the lower area. A tower that offers a high vantage point if you are brave enough to climb it. The canyon has plenty of room to maneuver, but there are some enemy entry points.
Unlike the main game, There is no machine gun turret at the top of the tower. However, there is one at the far end of the canyon, which can hit almost any lower level or bridge, and another across from the bunker. These include relatively limited amount of ammunitionSo use it wisely (no, Hank’s Mayhem mode doesn’t give you infinite shots).
Thankfully, enemies can’t use machine guns in The Mercenaries.
enemies of the island
Equipped with a stun stick, steel shield, and helmet, Soldier Ganados will be your main enemy on the island. They also make heavy use of Molotov cocktails, so watch out for enemies on fire! Swarms of Plaga also enter the map periodically, attaching themselves to Ganados and creating a dangerous melee threat.
Head-exploding plagas aren’t as common on this map as they are on other maps, but you still have to deal with them from time to time.

island strategy
The map starts smack in the middle, on a bridge. Ahead of you is Ganard with his back, but resist the temptation to eliminate him immediately. Instead, look around Pay attention to the bonus orb locations. Almost all spawn locations are visible from this location, except for the ones at the ends of the ladder behind the bunker.
Green bonus orbs extend the clock, so plan your route based on their location. If there are any in the tower, get them first. Reaching the top of the tower and going back down is dangerous and tempting. before the brute spawns.
Once you have a plan defeat the ganard and enter the bunker. Get first aid spray and red herb, get green herb on the left stairs. This will give you enough extra healing. This is definitely necessary.
Ganados can spawn from almost anywhere on this map, but due to the open line of sight, pick them up before they reach youLuis is particularly good at this thanks to his Biosensor Scope.
The top turret is not particularly useful unless you manage to catch the Brute in the firing area. Aim down into the canyon but poor coverage. Easy to be ambushed from the left already taken.
The bottom turret, on the other hand, is your best friend on this map. It can mow down even the thickest hordes. However, it may be worth Save it for the last pair of Crossbow Brutestheir autofire will rip your remaining health off once they get a clear shot, so you need to eliminate them quickly. , Leon and Luis will definitely find it easier if they can deploy turrets against these brainless bosses.
